Housing & Community Development Homebuyer Assistance
The City of Houston offers up to $30,000 to income-qualified residents. To qualify residents must:

Be a 1st time home buyer

Have a household income at or below 80% Area Median Income

The home of interest must pay taxes to the city of Houston
NAACP
Homes for Houston
The Houston Chapter of the NAACP's Housing Committee studies housing conditions and offers courses on financing methods to promote home ownership. The committee can be contacted at housing@naacphouston.org
Houston Area Urban League
Homebuyer Programs
The Houston Area Urban League Housing Department works to assist clients in the First-Time Homebuyer and Housing Program over a one-year period. Those willing to participate can register for upcoming sessions here.
Houston Community Land Trust
The Houston Community Land Trust is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, that looks to make provide affordable homeownership to qualified homebuyers. View qualifications and apply.
Houston Land Bank (HLB)
HLB looks to help more Houstonians own their own home. They acquire abandoned or damaged properties to develop affordable new homes. Qualified homebuyers are able to obtain additional assistance from the City of Houston in order to purchase these homes. View qualifications and apply.
